NDL Liquid Line Filter Driers
With Spectroline Florescent Leak Detector
- This Product takes a world class drier manufacturer that joins forces with an industry leader in leak detection. There are a variety of options for most HVAC applications. The Tracer Wafer makes leak detection simple. There is no mess from inserting dye into the system. OEM approved and Compressor safe.
In the HVAC industry, humidity and moisture is not our friend. Every closed system using refrigerant requires an in line filter drier. Once the system is sealed you’re safe…right? Well, not exactly. Whether it be from corrosion, high refrigerant pressures, or just faulty braze joints, eventually you are going to have a leak in your system. NDL has now released a Liquid Lined drier not only to help remove moisture from your HVAC system, but introduce a compressor safe, ultra violet dye right within the drier itself. They do this by adding a Spectroline TRACER WAFER® impregnated with fluorescent dye.
How does it work?
- When the system is started, the dye in the wafer is released. It mixes with the HVAC system’s lubricant and circulates with the refrigerant within the system.
- Leak dye escapes with the Refrigerant leaving a mark at point of leak.
- Exact point of leak is easily visible by UV flashlight through yellow glasses.
- After repair, clean off the remaining dye using a Glow Away or Similar cleaner.
NDL suggests using Spectroline’s UV light to visually pick up the leaks with the OptiMAX JR or the OPX-500CS.
You can always use your current ultraviolet light to diagnose the leaks.

An Additive You Can Trust
Spectronics Corporation invented fluorescent leak detection in 1955, this
technology is used by HVAC professionals worldwide to locate fluid leaks in
air conditioning and refrigeration systems. This process is simple and effective. The process requires nothing more than fluorescent dye and a UV lamp!
Compressor Safe
The main concern with any additive into a closed HVAC system is, “Will it void the warranty?” Spectroline concentrated dyes are approved by manufacturers, co-solvent free, NSF certified, and can remain safely in systems for its lifetime. Spectroline has OEM approval from companies such as Copeland, Bristol, Whirlpool, Carrier, Embraco, etc.
NDL Bio
NDL started in 1987 as a mechanical engineering firm. In 1998, the engineers at NDL recognized a need for more complete ACR copper fitting as new refrigerants emerged. The focus at NDL shifted from consulting to production, with the result being an elite ACR Copper fitting like no other in the industry.
Conklin’s Relationship with NDL
