The most common rollformer in all of HVAC Duct Fab is the 20 ga capacity Pittsburgh Machine. But jobs occasionally specify 18 ga for some of the larger or high pressure portions. If a shop does not have a “heavy” gauge Pittsburgh Machine, they are forced to weld the longitudinal seams—which can increase labor costs significantly.
The Model 18 Pittsburgh is a 7 station machine that uses 1-1/8” of material to rollform the 3/8” Female Pitts Pocket inboard at 45 ft / min and has one available outboard side for additional forming rolls. Capacity 18-24 ga*

Arc welded heavy duty Steel frame with heavy top plate. Double matched “V” belts are driven by a 2-hp motor on standard 3-phase power. 3-piece shaft design virtually eliminates the high maintenance costs associated with other brands single shaft type. Machine is two sided; the other outboard side is available for optional rolls including Drive Cleat, Double Seam or 3-in-1 Rolls.
