22 ga Perforated 5.394″ Slit Coil is used exclusively by Duct shops for one purpose: the inner wall of Duct Wall Spiral Duct. Perforated serves as a sound attenuation that a solid inner wall would not be able to provide.
The duct is made in the same likeness of the Outer Shell of which it will slide into. Wrapped with an Unfaced Duct Liner before going inside of the Outer Duct Wall.
Perforated Slit Coil is typically stocked and sold with the rough side facing out and shipped with a cardboard inner core to keep the inner smooth side from slipping. When the Slit Coil is run thru a Spiral Pipe Machine, the smooth inside surface of the Slit Coil becomes the outside formed Spiral tube.
