Duro Dyne’s Self Stick Square Framed Access Doors offer a considerable savings in job site installation vs the traditional dovetail tabbed style. Using the Self Stick Doors, the field sizes and cuts a hole in the duct wall, peels release paper to expose the wide airtite self stick framing the circumference, presses the door into position and inserts one screw into each of the four corner pre-drilled holes. Because there’s such a wide flange of self stick, the hole can be cut a little off and still not create an issue.
Tabbed doors have been the standard for many years but they are labor intensive to install because the hole must be sized and cut exact, then the tabs manually pushed in and folded back …one by one. Then, contractors feel obliged to brush on duct sealant knowing from experience that the tabs are often not pressed against the neoprene gasket securely and thus there will be air leakage from the door at the corners.
The design of the self stick doors is such that the Door itself is comprised of two identical 24 ga half doors frames insulated with 1″ fiberglass and clinched into one piece.
6″ x 6″ thru 24″ x 24″, Tested to 10″ WG, this is an Access Door that will likely soon be in most Engineer specifications.
