The Empire 25 KVA comes as either a spring loaded Foot Operated manual pedal or an Air Operated with Electric 2 stage foot pedal. 30 inch arms are sold separately.
Foot operated offers the operator more versatility as the upper arm does not have to come all the way up before it comes down which allows for increased speed, albeit with more operator effort. The arms can be set closer together and bypass the full cycle.
The Air assist model is beneficial on larger work pieces in which the operator would open up the throat further. The air assist takes some of the effort out of having to press the foot pedal down and holding thru the welding process.
