Item Code: FL-PF16

Power Flangers, also referred to as “Edgers”, rollform a Right Angle Flange on the edge of a curved flat piece of Galvanized which will be used as the Cheek (side) of a Radius Elbow or Fitting in Rectangular Ductwork.

A typical Radius Elbow will have two Cheeks, each cheek with a right angle flange (aka Male Pittsburgh) running along the two edges. These flanges will seat in the pocket of the female Pittsburgh Pocket which running along the edge of the Outer Heel and Inner Throat on the two wraps of the Elbow.

Without a Model 16 or 18 Power Flanger, a shop would likely opt not to use the Pittsburgh Lockseam to fabricate the Radius Elbow of anything heavier than 20 gauge; instead, welding the four longitudinal seams, thereby increasing time and labor substantially.

The Model 16 Power Flanger runs right to left and forms a 3/8″ tall flange on 16 thru 22 ga Galvanized. This flange height can be increased or decreased depending on the operator’s skill and the positioning of the workpiece as it enters the rollforming process.

Pressure knob for the two forming Rolls of Male Pitts loosens the tension and allows the flange to be turned on a tight radius for the throat. More pressure for outside Radius and less pressure for inside radius
