The Glass Master SG-420 Grooving Machine allows a shop to fabricate standard Fiberglass Duct Board into an inner wall insulation on round Spiral Duct. Compared to traditional Double Wall Spiral that has a perforated inner wall wrapped by unfaced liner and covered with an outer shell of Galvanized, Grooved Duct Board allows the duct shop to reduce fabrication time and material cost by nearly 50% without a corresponding loss in acoustical or thermal performance. From an installation perspective the difference could be even more significant because Spiral Duct with Grooved Duct Board is half the weight and bypasses the need for a fabricated double wall flange connector in favor or single flanges or slip couplings.
