When a square duct run makes a tee and goes in two directions splitters are often used to close off the other duct line or to reduce the flow into it.
Typically seen on low pressure jobs, the Splitters consist of a Bracket mounted on the duct and a Ball Joint Damper Casting mounted on the movable blade. Used along with either a 1/4″ or 5/16″ round rod these will adjust the opening of the airflow.
